The characters in this story are complex and shifty, but the questions they raise and the answers they provide are fascinating. Though their emotions stem from fear, jealousy, greed, anger and insecurity, the film aims to point out that these feelings also exist within humans.

Vidya Balan’s character is a very tragic one in the film. As a result, viewers become quite emotionally involved in her plight, and thus it’s very likely that audiences will connect with her powerfully emotional scenes. But for the film to be effective and for the other people who are going through similarly difficult times not to miss out on seeing themselves reflected on-screen, this film would want to give Ruksana(Shefali Shah) some opportunities for her performance to really shine as well beyond scenes involving only Vidya Balan.
