Mimi — Typical Melodrama offering shapeshifts
Mimi is the perfect example of how typical Indian cinema is. Hey, I’m not saying the movie is bad; t’s just that family dramas are prevalent, and this one is no exception. It accomplishes its goal of eliciting emotions and gaining approval.
Kirti Sanon impressed us with her screen presence, the zero figure body turned into a lofty body & we had to see her gaining weight, must say it’s a challenging role. Anyway talking about the movie, the shape shifts are never convincing enough, they come across as phoney as the emotional hijinks on screen.
As expected, Pankaj Tripathi and Manoj Pahwa made it look effortless and delivered fantastic performances. Mimi presents the thorny topic of surrogacy from a sentimental standpoint rather than providing any substantial insights.
