Nizhal seems to be inspired by Hollywood Mulholland Drive. I mean, it’s not precisely like that, but there are elements in the film that are similar.

The movie starts out weird with cool background music & subtle VFX. Later, it is discovered that there is a reference to a child who can narrate murder stories. The child seemed to have observed all of the murders that occurred 25 years ago. Pretty awesome right?

John Baby (Kunchacko Boban) plays a judicial Magistrate who has previously been in an accident and hence wears Batman-like masks on his face. As the film unfolds, John encounters bizarre events such as rain on a sunny day. He seeks professional advice from a dear friend who also happens to be a child psychiatrist, as he is disturbed by the chain of events he is experiencing. On analysis, something fascinating emerges, as the psychiatrist starts narrating a special case to him. The case involves a school child in his tale of the murders, including exact details about the place and also the landmark..

After gaining permission from his single mother Sharmila(Nayanthara), John Baby becomes incredibly intrigued and eager to meet the boy . More surprises await Baby as he delves deeper into the specifics and, according to the boy’s narrative, uncovers one of the bodies. How can a little guy who is new to Kerala be so accurate in his murders? How can a child be aware of murders that occurred 25 years ago? Is it the baby’s hallucinations, or is it something else?

The film becomes unusual & thrilling while all the findings While all of the evidence points to the involvement of supernatural forces, psychological suspense, or a sophisticated murder mystery. After a while, the movie’s suspense is disclosed, but there’s more to it. The last 15 minutes were stressful, it felt like the film would end up incomplete, but the startling climax added to the thrills.

Kunchakco Boban (John Baby) gives a fantastic performance, maintaining calm and decent facial expressions. Nayanthara is good; she doesn’t go overboard, which is fine for this film. Izin Hash is the major attraction, he is cute, natural and confident.
