The Harder They Fall- One of the Netflix’s Hidden Gem
Stoked to put my review for this movie. This movie is special in every way. First off super slick & impeccable cast. Second, I am a fan of the cowboy movie & this one delivered precisely what I was looking for: a good time.
It will take me hours if I talk about the incredible Costume Design work by Antoinette Messam (Hold the dark, colossal, orphan). From amazing music to color grading to smooth camera movement, Jaymes Samuel checked all the boxes with this film. He’s gone above and beyond in reimagining the Western, “liberating” it from its “narrow, white-male-centric” limits. The female cast was brilliantly utilized. The attitude, confidence, and brazen look of Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) and Lakeith Stanfield was cool.
For instance, I got ‘Public Enemies’ vibes. Gangs piling up & waiting for a chance to put an end to it. Stunned to see Bass Reeves (Delroy Lindo) blowing everyone out. Easily became one of Netflix’s Hidden Gems that no one is talking about. One Hell of a movie. Watch it!
